The Ray Bradbury Theater fue una serie de televisión en que se presentaba una antología de historias de ciencia ficción, intriga o fantasía basadas en relatos del escritor estadounidense Ray Bradbury, adaptadas y presentadas por él mismo.^[1] De 1985 a 1992 se produjeron un total de 65 episodios en seis temporadas, de los cuales los primeros seis episodios se transmitieron en HBO y los restantes en USA Network.

La idea de la serie surgió del actor Larry Wilcox y su productor Mark Massari, quienes se convirtieron en productores de la serie (Wilcox Productions) después de sugerir el proyecto a Ray Bradbury en 1984. Los lugares de rodaje fueron Inglaterra, Canadá, Nueva Zelanda y Francia. ^[2]

Todos los guiones de la serie fueron escritos por Ray Bradbury.^[3] Como productor ejecutivo, se le concedió total libertad artística. Por lo tanto, Bradbury utilizó sus cuentos originales como plantilla para los guiones o combinó elementos de varios de sus propios cuentos. Cada episodio comienza con una introducción dicha por el propio Bradbury:

People ask where do you get your ideas. Well right here. All this is my Martian landscape. Somewhere in this room is an African veldt. Just beyond perhaps is a small Illinois town where I grew up. And I'm surrounded on every side by my magicians toyshop. I'll never starve here. I just look around, find what I need, and begin. I'm Ray Bradbury, and this is The Ray Bradbury Theater.

En 1993, The Ray Bradbury Theater ganó un premio CableACE por la mejor dirección de una serie dramática (Best Directing for a Dramatic Series), por el episodio de la última temporada Great Wide World Over There, dirigido por el neozelandés Ian Mune.^[4]
