Summary
El Rally de Finlandia de 2025, oficialmente 74th Secto Rally Finland, fue la septuagésima cuarta edición y la novena ronda de la temporada 2025 del Campeonato Mundial de Rally. Se celebró del 31 de julio al 3 de agosto y contó con un itinerario de veinte tramos sobre tierra que sumaron un total de 307,22 km cronometrados. Fue también la novena ronda de los campeonatos WRC-2 y WRC-3, mientras que fue la cuarta del JWRC.

El ganador de la prueba fue el ídolo local Kalle Rovanperä quien logro la victoria en una exhibición total del Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT. Rovanperä tomó el liderato del rally el viernes por la mañana y nunca dejo el liderato del evento, el fines fue ayudado por los problemas de neumáticos que sufrieron sus rivales de Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT, Thierry Neuville y Adrien Fourmaux el sábado que dejaron la situación a favor del conjunto japones. Detrás del ganador, una intensa batalla arreciaba por las posiciones restantes del podio con apenas 8.9 segundos entre Takamoto Katsuta, Sébastien Ogier y Elfyn Evans en la meta. Sami Pajari completó el histórico quinteto de Toyota a más de un minuto de Rovanperä.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Este fue el segundo 1-2-3-4-5 en la historia del Campeonato Mundial de Rally tras el conseguido por Lancia en el Rally de Portugal de 1990. Además se convirtió en el rally mas rápido en la historia al alcanzar un promedio de velocidad de 129.95 km/h en los cuatro días de competición.[7]
En el WRC-2 se dio una batalla entre dos generaciones de fineses, Roope Korhonen y Jari-Matti Latvala lucharon por la victoria hasta la última especial cronometrada, con la victoria final del joven Korhonen por solo 1.1 segundos sobre Latvala. Korhonen comenzó el domingo con 1.8 segundos de ventaja, que fue recortada tras las dos pasadas por Ouninpohja en 0.7 segundos, permitiendo la primera victoria en la categoría del joven de 26 años. El último escalon del podio fue ocupado por el estonio Robert Virves quien no pudo equiparar la velocidad de los dos locales terminado a 43.1 segundos del ganador.[8]
En el WRC-3, el australiano Taylor Gill se sobrepuso a problemas de neumáticos para imponerse por tercera vez en la temporada. Gill tomó el liderato del rally en la mañana del viernes y lideraba con una buena ventaja hasta la tarde del sábado, cuando con problemas en los neumáticos perdió el liderato frente al turco Ali Türkkan. A pesar del contratiempo, Gill inicio un ataque en las dos etapas del domingo recuperando el liderato hasta la bandera a cuadros. El ultimo escalon del podio fue para el local Ville Vatanen quien no tuvo la velocidad para lucar con el autraliano y turco pero le alcanzo para ganarle a su compatriota Aatu Hakalehto por 13.1 segundos.
En el JWRC, el irlandés Eamonn Kelly logro su primera victoria en la categoría. Kelly heredo el liderato el sábado a la tarde después de que el australiano Taylor Gill se enfrentara a problemas con neumáticos y aguanto el embate del australiano el domingo en las dos pasadas por Ouninpohja para hacerse con el triunfo. El turco Ali Türkkan no pudo con el avance de Gill perdiendo la segunda posición pero quedándose con el ultimo escalón del podio.[9]
