The main objectives of the associations are:

• The promotion of the study and scientific research of social sciences and the human behavior.
• The carrying out of projects to improve the individual quality of life and the social development.
• The accomplishment of research and projects related to the health, understood as the physical, mental and social welfare.
• The organizations of educational and informative programs, in the national and international fields to make the advances of the psychology, the sociology, the health and the legal science, available to the whole society.
• The collaboration with other public and private institutions in favor of individual welfare improvement, social progress and social integration of the neglected collectives.

In its twenty-seven years of uninterrupted activities, the association has carried out, in Europe and America, much researcher and many studies, as well as educational and social programs. Amongst them, those displayed below are outstanding:

• Psychological and social problems of the modern society. The studies carried out by the association researchers on consumerism,^[2]​^[3]​^[4]​ shopping additions,^[5]​^[6]​^[7]​and the excessive or inappropriate use of the new technology have had special repercussion.^[8]​
• Consumers behavior and new models of development to make compatible the economic progress with an ethical and sustainable consuming.^[9]​^[10]​
• Promoting the active and critical consumer’s movement as well as the adult and young citizens education as responsible consumers^[11]​^[12]​
• Studying and spreading the scientific psychology aspects which are more useful to the daily life of citizens. The more relevant projects in these fields have been those related to the non-pharmacological alternatives to stress and anxiety problems,^[13]​^[14]​psychological welfare, mental health and rational use of psychoactive medicines.^[15]​^[16]​
• Psychology of sport and physical activity, with the starting-up, in 2008, of an important group, formed by professional and researchers in this field. This group is currently led by its vice-president and specialist in psychology of sport Miguel Angel Ramos.^[17]​

Since 1998 the association has had at its internal level six directions of area: psychology, sociology, education, consuming, health and citizen participation. ^[18]​.

Independent studies have stated that the association of psychologist and social studies is amongst the most outstanding Spanish entities as well as one of the most efficiently run.^[19]​
