Carrera
editarEn el 2003 apareció como invitada en las series médicas Doctors, Casualty y Holby City donde dio vida a Candice Holloway.
El 16 de diciembre de 2004 se unió al elenco principal de la popular serie británica EastEnders donde interpretó a la divertida Jean Slater, hasta ahora.[1] Gillian se fue brevemente el 13 de enero de 2011[2] sin embargo regresó el 29 de marzo del mismo año,[3][4][5] su última aparición fue el 17 de septiembre de 2013 después de que su personaje decidiera irse de Walford para comenzar una nueva vida con su novio Ollie Walters.[6] En mayo del 2014 se anunció que Gillian regresaría brevemente a la serie ese mismo año.[7]
En el 2005 interpretó a Yvonne en un episodio de la popular serie británica Coronation Street.
En el 2007 interpretó a Jaren Dugan en un episodio de la sexta temporada de la exitosa y aclamada serie de espías Spooks.
